Boing Boing blogged about 槟榔西施 figures, and I thought, neat, reminds me of our own Homies from a while back. Alas, my personal experience with the genuine article isn't anything to write home about; my tours through the Taiwanese countryside were always so fleeting, all I remember was seeing them as we drove by, always at nighttime, in their brightly lit tollbooth-like stands. Before they were explained to me, I had my own ideas of what was going on there… which for once, I'd like to turn out to be much worse.
