Will Smith as Captain America

And maybe they‘ll get Owen Wilson to play the Falcon?

Just yesterday, was it, Cap came up in a chat with Chris, except it was the Reb Brown version. (The guy was also one of Chrissy’s boyfriends who intimidated Jack on Three’s Company, which has strangely been on my mind lately; note the feeling I got from running between spawns in Alzadaal.) Coincidences like this—speaking as someone with experience in coming up with convincingly random numbers, occasionally you throw in a few that match—make me think of the same clouds in the Invisibles. Easy answer is, I always think of those same clouds in the Invisibles. You keep a small world, you’re bound to see the backgrounds repeat like in an old Hanna-Barbera cartoon. What frightens me as I broaden my horizons is to keep seeing them.

There hasn’t ever been a single Jean-Claude Van Damme movie I liked could bear, even for camp value. But this one sounds absolutely brilliant.

With the ridiculous developments in our ruling party, it’s no less implausible to believe that hired goons made out rioters at their convention to be worse than they really were. This is what it’s come to, creating unrest in order to scare constituents into submission, rather than impressing them with a peaceful demonstration of law and order. The end of society as we know it is truly nigh.

There’s a controversial diary over on Kos that claims the Woman Who Would Be VP is not in fact the mother of the family’s most recent child, but covering for her 16-year-old daughter. Not to lend any credence to such a horrendous allegation, but wasn’t this the storyline on at least one episode of SVU, made even more sickening because the father always turns out to be the husband?

Obama out-Nielsens Beijing’s opening ceremony, and the Republicans answer with a 三八 running mate to pick up the leftovers… real life isn’t looking too different from the crazy shit you see in the movies. Could use some more dinosaur-sized monsters (and not the animatronic kind—read: turn on a single joint—that spit water at you on the Jurassic Park ride; talk about lazy, the last sprinkler that got me they didn’t even bother stuffing inside a velociraptor and just hid it behind a bush).

scary-ass thing that Godzilla would've run from
Frank Darabont was solid 2-fer-2 on his Stephen King adaptations, but I didn’t buy the guys giving up so easily at the end.
