Games without Frontiers

I begin with quite possibly the lowest point in my MMO career (worse by far, than accidentally blowing my only 20K on the listing right below the Lv.14 Balance Ring I thought would make such a difference as a FFXI noob):

Truly inconceivable is the time required for this not dual-boxed with a F2P account, leveled to avoid the embarrassment inside the first instance. At least no leaguemates were around to see, as the majority of them have since left for TOR.

As each day alone passes, I question why I stick around, as the vets couldn’t even muster the will to beat the Sunstone Herald or ARC on our final weekend “bash”. Saving me from utter discouragement, as queueing with 7xDPS PVP is apt to instill, have been my Wednesday night FOS excursions with Disorderly Conduct, apparently also fallen from more populated times. Their remaining lot are of a higher caliber altogether, however, and they’ve helped me come within 2 pieces of completing the T3 set, though my gimp Mental powerset is only good for topping the chart in the third raid where AOE’s are restricted. Got this, too:

Isn’t used so much as it procs. Another SOE description fail. I mean, the punctuation alone once had me calculating decimal points and subtracting my base stat when a simple “+50 Precision to Self for 20sec” would’ve done.
92nd Skill Point tonight, on an otherwise pathetic Legends match where I could care less about winning and just made a beeline for captures (hence my choice of Arkham; it pays to target feats, after all), finishing off my crits. Of course if DisCon doesn’t show at reset, all of this is for naught, and I’m really gonna have to do some league-shopping. Or else continue with Skyrim, which I had hoped to set aside along with my Breaking Bad DVD’s for when the company goes under.
…Speaking of which, couldn’t help but make this erstwhile connection.
Seventh piece of T3 (leaving the last, the 45-mark waist), and my CR is 70:
Impending “Research & Development” addition, which they’re selling as crafting but is really just more collecting, got me greedy for funds to skirt the mindless grind for drops, and I listed my second Dragonscale Belt for 50mil, only to be undercut. Luckily I can make up the lost $2.5 fee with a fortuitous find: someone put up the Contemporary Tech back for all of 25K. I don’t see any up, nor any new substitutes for the rare Oolong drop, unless the Penguin duo‘s become very popular lately, and people are taking wild advantage of the RMT respec.
T3 complete, after over 5 months. Trend is, in Disorderly Conduct at least, to quit for TOR, but as I’ve no interest whatsoever in it, onto the Controller set!

Sadder, for the following reasons, than the feat from my inaugural post, because (1) it required the other character be of high enough level even to move the lifebar (and many times Pura’s wolf combos would overdo it) before getting to work, effectively doubling the amount of effort; (2) the counter wasn’t bugged this time and counting each kill as two; so (3) I basically did it all over again.

[As if Facebook had become my new home. I still leave it on an “app tab”, but only for the rare message from leaguemates. And then it’s always Shervin.] Reset tokens made this possible in less than two months, even with my playtime. Thus it’s nowhere near the accomplishment T3 was, as inspection of any ol’ PC (probably Brazilian) in the Watchtower will attest. Barring the Helm of Omnipotence, 88 is max CR, but without all single-stat IV mods and any luck with rings, I’m 28 short of the 2K Might Shade insists will get me those 1K+ Mass Terror crits I’ve yet to see. I’m inclined to think that maybe one forum member was onto something suggesting that the game’s RNG is a broken mechanic.
