I had two or three large pillows in my arms and didn’t want to be seen carrying them by the fancy restaurant clientele so I made for the nearest exit out of the marble-floored building. Across the street was a plaza with a well-known comicbook store adorned with its brands in a plain large typeset, which I recognized as New York City, again. There must be a way to confirm my location before contacting nearby relatives, even in this dream, maybe if I looked it up online, somehow completely forgetting that phones have had GPS for years. (It embarrasses me further that Google has record I performed such search.) I sat down on a bench between two attractive women, one younger and friendlier, the other in a flowing long white coat and couldn’t be bothered on her call. She didn’t seem to care and walked off when a brown dog approached and tugged on my eyeball socket while a voice, presumably a speaker it was carrying asked me how I was doing. They’ll be putting Alexa on collars, mark my word.

Et tu, iPhone?

I had convinced myself to put off upgrading from my 3G until this year’s new one, but news is it’ll be larger than ever, and while I used to think that a cellular-equipped iPad would be the ideal solution, maybe the smaller form factor of years gone by is worth revisiting. This Sony Ericsson might allow me to explore Android, and I seem to have only have fond memories of the T610. Choices change; the decisions don’t.

Probably ought to choose my words carefully this time, lest I eat my hat again and upgrade, but as much as the new design harks back to my T610, I’ve learned my lesson about two-year contracts amidst product cycles half that (and how they’re even worse if you sign up like I did, six months into one). Plus, jailbreaking has brought new purpose back to my antiquated 3G—to squeeze as much tethering bandwidth out of AT&T before I ditch them come January. In this sense at least, the phone’s only as good as the carrier, and their new plan, which actually lowers the monthly cap while adding an extra $20 to the bill, sounds to me like a step or two backwards. Gimme another Pearl.

$99.99 + $9.99/month for something that didn’t even work in the store may have been inadvisable, but what about 39.99 & 1.99? I wonder if you still have to be with them to get that price?
Why can’t they make an interface with big honkin’ buttons that are clear so there’s no loss of precious space for the screen?

This digital frame is onto something, I think. The idea’s not new, but the SIM plan is; combine that with a Twitter-like service for picture messages, and you’ve got a different kind of media broadcasting. In addition to the CSI storylines it’ll undoubtedly make for.

Great name, though it’s not quite what I had in mind for a cell game. I admit I failed to envision the advent of GPS technology, and am still not convinced it’ll add much; all I’m reminded of is ラヴゲッティー. No, I want something more than hooking up with a nearby schoolgirl. (Even as a horny サラリーマン.) I spent an hour or so while waiting on 老婆 to check out some Korean-owned apparel stores with names like “G-Stage” and “Retrospect” at the poorly-timed Anaheim GardenWalk working on a concept this weekend and honestly, couldn’t progress much beyond a SMS-based choose-your-path adventure using multiple Twitter accounts. It’s too easy to come back to a widget or whatever that supports a massiver online enterprise, but I want the player to experience it all from wherever there’s a signal. I guess that’s why John Carmack still hasn’t delivered either, right.
