Got less than an hour left on the battery (and probably not helping things with the Bluetooth mouse), wondering whether I should risk using this scary-looking power outlet here in Taiwan. It's got enough holes to accommodate just about any set of prongs, and all the available research does tell me they're on 110W. What bothers me about this otherwise superbly-equipped hotel is that the fancy touch-screen LCD master control device on the nightstand displays the wrong time, with no discernable way to correct it. Ports for AIM/FFXI seem blocked, too, and me here for the better part of the week. Watch, I'll miss the Brave's Kecks again.

I watched no less than three movies to keep from getting up and pulling things out of the overhead compartment: X-Men, Da Vinci Code—during which the Linux (!) app rebooted on me—and シムソンズ. Looks like Marvel won't be selling me a third DVD, and I knew I was in for some discomfort when I mentioned that blasphemy to my fanatical boss, but the curling flick troubled me most, as attracted as I was to one of the 18-year-olds in it.
