Why I got a DS, and not a PSP

(10) Cost, not so much upfront, but later, when I will regret either purchase
(9) The superior library of games, that aren't little more than ports and actually make use of the novel interface (though I was awfully tempted by Capcom's use of a limited D-pad overlay for Street Fighter)
(8) UMD just ain't viable recording media, there's no option in sight for TV-out, so the iPod is the better choice for video on-the-go …and there's absolutely no way I'm collecting pr0n on yet another format!
(7) You can thrash the DS with cool stickers, whereas the PSP is another carrying-case delicacy, and as a recovering OCD, I'm trying to stay away from those
(6) The only convergence-like feature of the PSP that attracted me was its use as a remote WiFi viewer for LocationFree TV, but I figure I don't watch $600's worth of real-time broadcasts anymore
(5) Both are toys, face it, but the top sellers in Japan are called 「大人のDSトレーニング」
(4) The fanboy in me is favoring Nintendo as the innovator in this generation's console wars; bear me out, future link
(3) Phoenix Wright really is "fucking amazing", even if, trace the linkage, the reporting of that particular assessment is suspect
(2) I had a Target gift card, and there was no sale this week on underwear

—And the number one reason why I got a DS and not a PSP (as well as much everything else):

(1) My life is otherwise empty and meaningless.
