Scategories

This is probably the fourth or fifth time I’ve revamped them and reassigned all my posts to the new ones (the previous having been Douglas Adams’ “Survival, Inquiry and Sophistication” historical phases of Galactic Civilization), and who knows how long these’ll last. I first considered going with four letters, like I suggested 남재 put on T-shirts for Christmas gifts, such as “TTEH” and “EUFF”, but there are enough other 윤-isms with one less, not to mention in popular culture nowadays, and they remind me of the TLA’s used in 2001. Those that aren’t quite so self-explanatory include GGG, or ゴーゴーゴー, indicating some remarkable feat of initiative; HMM, the ubiquitous chat response that implies higher thinking is in process, but more often than not it’s just because conversation’s stalled; MEH is likewise the web generation’s floccinaucinihilipilification, isn’t it; MMM, from Homer Simpson; and of course, YYY for “yeah yeah yeah”, which you’d think would be a more frequent expression as I got older, from the surrender to life inherent in the acknowledgment, or at least about the same while I transitioned there from the impatience in my youth. It’s a good thing these categories aren’t mutually exclusive.

龜毛
And here’s Tag 龜毛 [update—which I’ve since replaced with the YYY Category because of the general unfriendliness to double-byte characters], which I reconcile with its use in Japanese (亀毛兎角) to mean “so picky [as to want] something that doesn’t exist.”
