Bad enough the airlines don’t mandate vaccination, they’re back to maximizing their fuel economy by packing their planes and expecting passengers to expose themselves to each other for little bags of nuts. But what’s affected air travel the most for the worse surely has to be the course of self-entitlement that many of us took in the face of the pandemic. Last trip I took I got quite worked up over a Vietnamese woman three rows in front of me with a propensity for pulling her mask a few inches off her mouth to speak to her husband, which she somehow managed to keep up for the duration of the five-hour flight. Who has that much to discuss with their spouse? Count on Reddit for examples on the periphery of human experience (in other words, sus)
, but the one which would’ve been the death of me from so many cuts has to be the woman who heard read took fucking screenshots of someone talking behind her back and big surprise, didn’t like it. She says his phone was “up a foot away from his face, which was a foot away from [hers]”, confirming the comment that she “was reading his messages because she was sharing his seat w/ him.” In all fairness, economy is cramped as hell, and I’ve certainly had choice words on any occasion it was alright my wife knew about, but at least I put them in a small-ass font and different Asian language. Important clarification of the title is to add “(with People)” to everything I hate.
